La La Land (The Last City #2)

I receive this ARC from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review- no payment was taken. "My heart's been replaced by a sad, limping thing of stone. what a stupid, fickle muscle that beats on, when it should give up." this pretty much tells you EVERYTHING about my feels right now guys!!! Dayyum this book was so good and SO FREAKING INTENSE!!! Logan Keys you honestly amaze me. you managed to make a book so full on with action with scarce a minute to breathe but managed to make it all so phenomenal and not be overdone! I applaud you! Okay, let's get going with the plot: In the times of indecision and anarchy, One girl with the musical talents that had left a tainted world in awe has been changed. One boy with the heart of a leader and the soul of a protector was change into a near monster. Liza and Thomas Rippley Hatter find themselves on a path to destruction, yet they desire to fight against the oppressive systems to take back what is theirs. Love. Hate. Jealousy. Forgiveness. You once knew the city of Anthem...well, see how like the new La La Land where nothing is as it seems. This book guys. i can't even deal right now. first off, Logan Keys your writing near ceases to amaze me. Its so lyrical and gorgeous, so many times while reading i stopped and thought dang that was so deep! This book had me in a a constant panic because every moment that i felt like i knew what was going to happen, it was like nope! just kidding! And something completely different would happen. It was so satisfying! This plot i literally could not tell the next step and again the ending had me spitting out that mouthful of tea in shock (so fair warning dont consume any hot beverages when you're near the ending- because it won't end well.) Okay but in all seriousness, the first book i found the first half to be a bit slow and lagging and then the second half blew my mind to smithereens. This book is like the second half of the first book but for an entire novel! I felt mentally exhausted and emotionally worn out. i cried...Tommy...Joelle...Lizzaaa *bawls* i felt worn out. To be honest i wanted a romance between Tommy and Liza so freaking bad and while there are other forms of love out there, i was satisfied but i just wished.... I loved Tommy so much and i was so annoyed at one female character that was buzzing around him when it should have been Liza (in my mind :P)- i ship Liza and Tommy, i can't help it haha BUT ANYWAY! Don't let that dissuade you, this book is freaking good! read it. do it! Now. Stay awesome! The Book herald Twitter- @thebookherald
