Hidden Impact

I received this ARC from Carina Press via NG in return for an honest review.

Publication date: 9th November 2015 "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. -Hippocrates" Rating- 3.5 Stars Let's jump straight into the plot!

Maylin Cheng believe that everything can be fixed with food. You only need to have the right meal in your hands and a full belly. Only one thing she can't fix, Her sister is missing and no one will help her. Maylin is desperate, An-Mei is not the type to just take off, and her sister being a top geneticist, something seems wrong. When all the sudden Maylin finds herself on some sort of hit-list, she desperately seeks help. No one is willing to help, not even The Centurion Corporation, that is, until they see her almost flattened on the street. Gabriel Diaz makes it his assignment to help and protect Maylin, However, who will protect his heart?

This book was really nice! I liked it a lot! This story begins with Maylin desperately trying to convince someone to help her and being rebuffed, as a owner of a catering company- she doesn't have the big bucks to pay a private investigator but surely someone knows something of what happened to An-Mei. "When it came to relations by blood, only An-Mei had been the family of her heart. Maylin would do anything for her little sister. Anything to get her back." Maylin is a really sweet character that has a degree of gumption and backbone without being some sort of ninja. I find it hilarious that her version of dealing with stress is mass cooking or cleaning...actually that's what i do too. Gabriel Diaz is an Alpha male for sure. He totally is a softy inside though and cares for others but he doesn't try to play it off, people knows he cares for them. This book is filled with suspense and intrigued, from bombs to bullets to intricate plots. It was very entertaining! That being said, it is most definitely an adult book and has mature scenes and content. You've been warned. The writing in this book is very good, Drake definitely knows how to suck you into her world and keep you on your toes! Definitely worth a read! Stay awesome! -The Book Herald tweet me @thebookherald
